Like a mixed berry jam, last year was not either sweet or sour to the fullest. I hate raspberries and throughout the year, I had to eat some of them in my jam. I don’t know whether you understood this messy metaphor, but let me explain.
I am an accountant in a well-reputed firm and I was single till last year. My mom insisted I get married very soon you know, moms’ things… by the way I had a very beautiful girlfriend, but I was very nervous to ask her to marry me. First things first, she is a travel girl, which is her passion to travel. In my free time, I do is travel with her. All because of my mom’s pressure, I decided to ask her to marry me. First of all, I arranged a dinner with my family and invited her. Well, my mom loved her and adored her with every first encounter and after the dinner, she never let me be in peace, by repeating to marry her. She was like, “you dump boy, what you waiting for? To let another bird pick this one?” yep, I didn’t want that. I rushed into a jewellery shop and asked them to make a custom-made diamond ring. I took an advance salary after talking with the manager and bought the ring. Long story short, I took her to her favourite mountain hill place, and had a very amazing time, until she found the ring in my pocket. Yes dude, sometimes those things happen. While she was picking clothes to do laundry, while she was checking through my pockets, she found it. I don’t how those women's brains work but for some reason, instead of keeping quiet and acting like she didn’t see that, she rushed to me with puppy eyes, yelling, “ awwwww my lord, is this for me? “ moment of confusion, and then a very serious word string of swearing escaped my mouth. Yes. I ruined the surprising part, excitement and that ruined all my expectations. But I grabbed the box from her hand, knelt before her and asked her to marry me. The most hilarious part was I rented a fine suit for this moment but actually, I had to do it only wearing a towel, as she was rushed to me while I was going to have a bath!
I love how my girl got this so optimistic, she said yes, hugged me tightly and kissed me for some moments and we shed tears of happiness for some time. But we couldn’t help the urge to laugh at how all this happened. Thanks to her, she didn’t care about that grand proposal moment with shiny dresses, balloons and light candles which were ruined. By the way, it was amazing though…
We had a grand wedding, as she always wanted at a beachside, outdoor one. She wore a stunning gown, and she was glowing. So, after the wedding, we moved in and still the best moment in my life is when my cute wife wears a little top and a short, cooking breakfast while recalling the proposal thing that happened to us.
